Flag Da y is June 14 , an excellent opportunity to showcase our patriotism. We have a group of dedicated individuals led by Del Lind who help the Elks by displaying flags and promoting military support for our veterans throughout the year. By celebrating our nation’s flag, we are expressing our love of country.
Father’s Day, June 19, is a special occasion to thank our fathers/father figures, recognize the influence of fatherhood in our lives, and show our commitment to family values. We will have Father’s Day dinner specials of steak & shrimp for $24.99 and prime rib for $22.99 in the Elks dining room Saturday, June 18, from 5:30-9:30 pm.
The 41st Annual McQuade Charity Softball Tournament will be held June 24-26. Our lodge will be selling burgers, brats, and beer in the parking lot on the west side of the Elks during this tournament to raise money for our charities. Please stop by and grab some great food if you are in the area. If you would like to volunteer to help out with this event, please contact Arlan Scholl or Rod Bakken. They are always in need of workers to help with the cooking and selling.
Children’s Day at the Zoo is scheduled for June 25 from 10 am to 1 pm. During this event, the Elks will be giving away two bikes, one for a boy and one for a girl. Stop by for a fun day watching the children enjoy the animals.
I would like to recognize our Elk of the Year, Steve Vaughan, who is pictured in this issue of the newsletter. Please let him know how much we appreciate his many hours of volunteering during the year. Steve will represent our lodge in Fargo, ND, at the State Convention which is held July 22-24. Congratulations and Good Luck!
You can see by the many events that the Bismarck-Mandan Elks Lodge is working hard to raise money for local charities and striving to make a positive impact in our community. See you at the Elks!
